The Former Bus Depot is located on Friars Street on the south western fridge of Hereford City Centre.
Hereford is a Cathedral City located on the River Wye and has a population of just over 50,000. The City has undergone significant regeneration in recent years, in particular the redevelopment of the former cattle market which now comprises Old Market Shopping Centre. Within the Centre there is an array of retailers including Debenhams Department Store, Next, TK Maxx, H & M together with a Waitrose Supermarket. The scheme also includes a significant leisure offering, being a six screen Odeon Cinema in addition to a number of well known restaurants such as Frankie and Bennys, Nandos and Zizzi.
The Former Bus Depot is accessed off Friars Street which is a one way thoroughfare leading from Barton Road, near to its junction with Victoria Street, being the main road through central Hereford. The immediate surrounding area comprises a mixture of commercial and residential premises. The property comprises a level site with tarmac and concrete cover, upon which there is an existing steel framed building with an asbestos covered roof.
The site has until very recently been operated as a bus depot but operations have now ceased and the site is therefore vacant.
The total site extends to approximately 1.24 acres. The site until recently has been utilised as a commercial bus depot. Informal discussions with the Local Planning Authority would indicate that redevelopment
of the site for residential/sheltered/care use will be supported. The site would also lend itself to continued commercial use. Prospective purchasers are advised to make their own enquiries with the Local Authority.Offers are invited for the site. Offers will be considered either on an unconditional or on a subject to planning basis.
